This Is Water

This page is all about transforming teachers to encourage well-rounded learning in students. We need to teach the youth of our world in a safe, positive classroom.

Classrooms need to be environments that support curiosity, kindness, and personal growth. These resources are all about creating educators who truly care and are representatives of the world we want to create.

“This is Water” by David Foster Wallace is a speech that says a lot about humanity and perspectives. I find it to be critical information for teachers.  Those who are teaching the future generations should start the change and help create a loving, empathetic society.

In his speech, Wallace emphasizes awareness of thoughts and actions in order to begin appreciating the world and treating other better. These are concepts that should be exemplified and encouraged by all educators.

“Unstoppable Learning” is an episode on NPR’s TED Radio Hour featuring 5 different speeches that were once on TED Talks. All of the ideas by these speakers lead to the notion of the revolutionizing teaching.

Humans begin learning on their own as early as they are in the womb, they have natural curiosity and ability to learn. Teachers and parents need to create a supportive and positive environment that helps students grow through, what Sugata Mitra calls, “self-organized learning.”

This style of teaching can help students hone in on their natural ability to learn and create a more engaging and beneficial classroom. You can listen to "Unstoppable Learning" here.
